Meet Dr. Hlobik

Andrea McCullough-Hlobik is a board-certified pediatrician, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and thrilled to be joining Dr. David Bergman at The Pediatric Place.  For the past ten years she worked in a very successful pediatric practice in Connecticut before recently relocating to Atlanta with her family in 2017.

Dr. Hlobik was born in Prešov, Slovakia with a childhood full of travel as she and her family left the former Czechoslovakia during the fall of communism.  She lived briefly in Rome, Italy before immigrating to the United States.  More recently Dr. Hlobik had an opportunity to live in Paris, France for six months while her husband completed a medical fellowship.  She is fluent in Slovak, proficient in Czech and enthusiastic about learning more French.

Dr. Hlobik graduated Valedictorian of her high school class.  She attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a major in Biology and a concentration in Psychology.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude, but not before being awarded the T-Tuble Prize in Physiology.  Dr. Hlobik received the Spirit of Manayunk Academic Scholarship for community service and academic excellence while at Muhlenberg and again during her time in medical school.

She attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and then trained in Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper in Camden, New Jersey.  Her training at a center of Pediatric excellence at Cooper prepared her well to help her patients achieve and maintain optimal health.  Dr. Hlobik believes in forming a lasting partnership with both her patients and their families to bring outstanding medical care to everyone that she sees.  Focusing on the “whole person” approach to medicine, which is the philosophy of Osteopathic Medicine, means treating the entire person rather than just the symptoms.  This allows her to provide the best compassionate, complete and coordinated medical care.

Dr. Hlobik is happily married and stays busy raising three very active young children.  When not working at the office, she spends time volunteering at her children’s school or substitute teaching at the Czech and Slovak school of Atlanta.  She enjoys gardening, ballroom dancing, travelling with her family, learning about new cultures and experiencing all that life has to offer.  Together with her husband and dance partner, Dr. Hlobik studied ballroom dancing for five years, reaching the silver level.   She even had an opportunity to perform in one preshow of Dancing with the Stars Live on Tour.

Dr. Hlobik shares the vision of The Pediatric Place to provide the highest quality of care in a comfortable setting through education involving the latest advances in pediatric medicine.   She is looking forward to getting to know all of her new patients.
