Immunizations

My practice adheres to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) national recommended childhood immunization schedule. Immunizations have virtually eliminated most very serious bacterial and viral illnesses that used to plague the generations before us and lead to mortality or severe lifetime complications. Vigilance in providing childhood immunizations will prevent spread of vaccine-preventable diseases across the country, or globally, amidst our very mobile world.

An alternative (delayed) immunization schedule is available at my practice for parents who prefer this approach. While careful research into vaccine safety concerns continues to overwhelmingly support the safety of the CDC recommended schedule, and absence of linkage to autism or other serious health concerns with rare exceptions) this alternative schedule may satisfy certain concerns parents have and still provide your child with all recommended vaccines in a timely fashion by school entry. This alternative schedule is not without risk – parents must choose and agree to this risk since certain vaccines are not given on this schedule at their nationally recommended time period. I refer parents to other pediatric providers in our community if you are unwilling to immunize your child at all or cannot follow either the CDC schedule or alternative schedule as offered by my practice.
